Frequently asked questions

Does it actually take 10 minutes, or is that the best-case scenario?

10 minutes is a realistic average for someone who's done it 2–3 times. We recommend watching the application video before your first attempt, which shortens the learning curve significantly.

Will it actually last through dishes, baths, and general mom life?

Yes — this is the thing we hear most from customers. The mineral bond is genuinely more durable than regular polish and holds up through water exposure, cleaning, and constant handwashing. Most of our customers report 10–14 days of wear.

Is it really safe to do near kids? No fumes at all?

Completely. Sistaco is 100% odorless — no chemical smell at all, during application or curing. There are no VOCs, no solvent fumes, no off-gassing. You can do your nails with children in the same room without any concern. This is one of the things that makes it fundamentally different from gel systems.

What's in the Starter Kit — do I need to buy anything else?

The Starter Kit includes everything you need: the LED lamp, base coat, your chosen color(s), top coat, and the brush applicator. You do not need to buy anything additional to get started. We also include a free cuticle oil with every kit order — a nice bonus that's especially good if your cuticles have taken a hit from previous gel use.

I've tried DIY nail kits before and been disappointed. Why is this different?

Fair question — and we hear it often. Most at-home kits fail because the formula is gel-based (meaning it needs precise application, primer, and the same chemical process as a salon) or because the removal is damaging. Sistaco's mineral powder system is genuinely different in how it applies and cures. The self-levelling brush application is forgiving in a way gel isn't.

How do I remove it without damaging my nails?

Removal is simple and gentle — no soaking, no drilling. When you're ready to change color or take a break, the mineral bond releases cleanly. Full removal instructions are included in the kit. Most women complete removal in under 10 minutes. Your nails are left exactly as they were before application.
